<p>In anime, a tiny domino mask can hide your identity. ;) </p><p>According to the anime, he wears "too much makeup*" when dressed up, and obviously none after he bathes... but us here in the world of 3D can't tell the difference. This makes me think that anime characters have a perception of each other that us mortals do not have.

<p>1. IMHO this is probably a case of "wholesome crossdresser" or trap... the disguise is symbolic of his desire for anonymity, not a gender identity. Take that and the sorta-stereotypical flamboyant OD, and it becomes pretty clear that while Crowds wanted to be "edgy" displaying a spectrum of sexualities, they didn't go very far... at all ^{[see: the fanservicey pseudo rape scene Rui received]}. </p><p>

2. Also... is this bit accurate?
