Battle of the Planets: The Movie

Battle of the Planets: The Movie is an unsold pilot by Sandy Frank made in 2002. The compilation movie was an attempt to revive Battle of The Planets some twenty-four years after its original debut in 1978.

This conceived re-imagined version of Battle of the Planets was planned to cut down on the previous censorship, and evolved into the unproduced series pitch Battle of the Planets: The New Exploits of G-Force. Such a remake never materialized, and plans were canceled once the complete Gatchaman series was sub-licensed from Sandy Frank by ADV Films to put out their redub.

Overview

This movie contains the original voice recordings of specific episodes from Battle of The Planets. The character names (from Battle of The Planets) are also retained, but scenes that included violence and deaths are now visible as part of the story. The setting was now on Earth, although Red Impulse was still "Colonel Cronus from Planet Riga".

Keyop continues to stutter, and there are still appearances of 7-Zark-7, 1-Rover-1, and Susan, although dialogue is now focused on the mission instead of banter. Additionally, 7-Zark-7 was given new narration and was now voiced by David  Bret Egen. 

A new version of the theme song, a techno remix by the Cuban Boys, was also included; this remix contains different lines from the G-Force team.
