This category is a series of pages showcasing different adaptations of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman or its sequels, as they aired in various overseas countries from the 1970s and on

The USA is infamous for having three different aired adaptations (two based from the first series, and the third from the sequels), but there may be cases where other countries also have multiple dubs due to various circumstances.

The chronology of the international adaptations roughly follows:

Unknown (circa late '70s): The Gutman. This is an incomplete English language version mentioned in the BiB TV Programming catalogs, that was still being offered by Tatsunoko and Yomiko up to the year 1990. Its origins and further information have never been clarified.

1977:

1978:

  • Battle of the Planets (First-run syndication, USA). This series was also sold worldwide to any countries that did not directly license from Tatsunoko, ensuring they would have their own translations of this version (which will also be listed below). The original English version would later air on Australia's ABC starting February 1979, and on the UK's BBC network in September of the same year.
  • Fuerza G: Guerra entra Planetas- Latin American Spanish localization of Battle of the Planets

1979:

  • Eagle 5 Brothers (TBC, South Korea)
  • La Bataille des Planetes (TF1, France)- French localization of Battle of the Planets
  • Maaraket Al Kwakeb (ARETV, Egypt)- Arabic localization of Battle of the Planets, debuted in Egypt before other Middle Eastern airing deals were worked out.
  • I Machi Ton Planiton (CypBD, Cyprus)- Greek localization of Battle of the Planets, but debuted in Cyprus first.

1980:

  • Eagle 5 Brothers (unauthorized compilation film of II)
  • Gatchaman: Battaglia dei Pianeti series 1 (TVE, Italy). A hybrid dubbing of Battle of the Planets with the 20 episodes of Gatchaman that were not sourced for that version, made possible due to Italy having had contracts with both Sandy Frank and Tatsunoko.
  • Strijd der Planeten (AVRO, The Netherlands)- Dutch localization of Battle of the Planets.
  • La Batalla de los Planetas (TVE, Spain)- Castilian Spanish localization of Battle of the Planets
  • Wojna Planet (Polish TV, Poland)- Polish localization of Battle of the Planets

1981:

  • The New Brave Eagle Man (RTV)
  • Tornado Youth Flying Knights (CTV).

1983:

  • Gatchaman: Battaglia dei Pianeti series 2 and 3 (Italia1, Italy)
  • The Ten Magnificent Heroes (RTL31, Italy, included the "Five Stars" dub of the bootleg Gatchaman II film split into episodes)
  • Milchamah Kochav (ITC, Israel)

1986:

  • Eagle Commandos/Gechaman (Sam Boo Video, South Korea). A VHS-only dub of select first series episodes.
  • Gatchaman: Le Combat des Galaxies (France). A VHS-only compilation dub of the first four episodes of II.

1987:

  • G-Force: Guardians of Space (USA). 5 episodes aired on WTBS as a test run to clear a contractual agreement, but the series would otherwise be shelved until Cartoon Network aired its full run in the 1990s. In the meantime, it would also be sold to other countries and localized.
  • Fuerza G: Guardianes del espacio- Latin American Spanish localization of the above G-Force dubbing.

1990: Eagle 5 Brothers (redub for KBS)

1991: Gatchman (Antena 3, Spain). Castilian Spanish dub of II.

1995: G-Force: Defensores do Espaço- Brazilian Portuguese localization of G-Force.

1996:

  • Eagle 5 Brothers II and Eagle 5 Brothers F (KBS)
  • Eagle Riders (First-run syndication, USA)
