Come Back! Boomerang is the 80th episode of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.
Plot Summary[]
In the country Assham, an uprising has started. Traces of a confusion ray appear on the body of the leader who has been shot. Thinking that a few hundred people have been bathed in that ray, the Science Ninja Team sneaks into the country to investigate.
During the investigation, Ken and Jinpei notice that the peacocks, which are the country's national birds, and are bred and released in the country, are robots. The peacock mechas cover the Ken and Jinpei with confusion rays. Ken pushes Jinpei away and saves him from the rays. A giant peacock statue is then revealed to be a peacock shaped mechanism titan, which then destroys the truck that Ken has hidden in. Ken's boomerang remains behind.
The Science Ninja Team receive a broadcast showing the truck that Ken is hiding inside is being smashed. They are grieving when the message reaches them that the mecha titan has appeared again. The Science Ninja Team says they'll fight in memory of Ken and get going.
The God Phoenix has to fight hard against the titan, getting bathed in the confusion ray. However, Ken had actually escaped from the truck and destroys the launching device in the titan. The iron ball, which was about to be launched, opens a hole in the hull of the titan and Ken can go to the outside of the mecha.
Ken contacts Joe and tells him to shoot a missile with a timing device into the mecha titan. Because of the missile shot into the titan, panic arises and Katse ends up getting away. Just before the titan crashes, Ken escapes from the hull. His comrades are happy that Ken survived, and Jun returns the boomerang to him.
