hi I kinda new here but I was wondering if you can tell me who the founder is because a user named darkshadow99 claims the founder is a mafia and says it isn't decent here is the proof.also I did not come to cause trouble I just wanted to inform the wiki
Well, its been a long time since then. But I remember the person in question tried to reshape the wiki into a Battle of the Planets Wiki without asking. We confronted him on the issue and told him this wiki was intended to cover the franchise as a whole. He got mad and then tried to cause trouble, we kicked him out.
The "Mafia" comment is a jab at the fact we run a hub of wikis dedicated to tokusatsu and tokustasu related media. (Gatchaman is considered by many to be a precursor to Super Sentai/Power Rangers) I find a lot of immature users tend to label us as that, as we are strict on rules but take a fair but firm approach to it.
You vandalize, you are outta here. You threaten us with death or other disturbing hateful remarks, you are out. Anything else has a three-strike system if it messes up the wiki and you ignore the rules. Another thing we do is simply give a friendly reminder or helpful aid if it is an honest error and you did not know how to fix it. We give you advice or try to show you how it can be fixed.
I do apologize for the current state of Gatchaman wiki. I work Retail so I'm not home much, when I adopted it I was unemployed and had a lot of free time. Now I just safeguard it. If you want to pitch in, feel free to do so, I would appreciate the help. Just try and discuss any cosmetic changes that need to be made so I won't be taken by surprise.
We like to have a little democracy, that's all.
They know you are here. I really don't want this headache again, we have big plans for the 45th anniversary of Kamen Rider and I don't want them ruined by old skeletons popping back up. I was hoping to not be a target again.
ok when he said I was globally banned the first time that was true next time I shouldn't stay logged in when others use wiki. But I returned and apologized for the trouble my brother caused and there were no problems. Now I took a break from wiki(nearly 2 months)and I guess they thought I was banned even though it would have said on my user page that I was globally banned.
Well, there are three versions. The original is about a team of bird themed costume superheroes who use ninja skills and high tech gadgets to stop a terrorist organization called Galactor who wants to rule/destroy the world.
It is loosely inspired by American superheroes (most notably the costumes which have a Neal Adams Batman feel. Even Tatsuo Yoshida admitted he was given a comic by a US GI in Okinawa and took it home with him, he was fascinated by it and decided to do his creation in that style)
It is also the first to feature original elements that would coincidentally transfer over to the Super Sentai series 4 years later in 1975. (wrist morphers, team theme gimmick, a team of five with one female member, finisher to destroy the monster, personalized individual weapons and a team attack) The series has two spin offs, an OVA, a flash animation comedy show, a live action movie (which isn't very good) and a slew of merchandise. The first series is available for free on Hulu if you are curious. The others are sadly only available on less legit measures due to licensing issues caused by the next one.
The second is the various dubs/adaptations: Battle of the Planets, G-Force etc. They are part of the reason the west even knows what anime is, as many older generations watched those on TV as kids and that paved the way for more anime to come over. Most play fast and loose with the content to appeal to an American audience and are commercially available in some cases.
The third is Gatchaman Crowds, a re-imagining of the franchise for the digital age with social commentary on how we use the Internet and Social Media. It may irritate purists as the bird motif is replaced by shiny neon Tony Stark armors, but it is an interesting take on how our digital world can affect us as humans and analyzes how superheroes would work in the age of Facebook and Twitter. You can view Crowds on Crunchyroll.
In addition, to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the animation company Tatsunoko, Ken The Eagle is going to be in a new series next year alongside fellow Tatsunoko superheroes as the mighty Infini-T Force!
There is no forcing of hand as far as I'm concerned. On Wikia, you do not drag arguments into another wiki, much less start them.
I have enough stress from the day to day operations of the Tokupedia Network and my home life, I do not need more from squabbles that I have nothing to do with from other wikis.
I do accept your apology though, and hope you will be kind enough to help out here. I need a staff to keep things running in preparation for Gatchaman Crowds insight while I handle the development of Tomica Hero Wiki and some other projects. (Currently working on Cyborg 009 Wiki's 1968 anime episode pages.)
TKU has no power over this wiki or its hub. I have already permanently banned several of its members from the hub for attempted disruptive behavior and rule violation, and I will not hesitate to permanently ban more. Next time Nightmare9188 wants to cause problems, he can do it on his own wikis. He will not be doing it here. And Wikia staff have already stated that they are to leave this wiki alone.
Nba, don't listen to this fool. I never forced him to do anything. He brought drama on TK, and now he's choosing to go to wikis I go to and bring drama there. If anyone is the enemy, it's Klaus. I'm the innocent one here. I mean, look at what Klaus did. He choose to bring the problem here instead of being civilized and doing it at TK. Doesn't that tell you he's the one bringing drama?
I also see Aldo stepped in and, like me, stated we would not tolerate any of it. Keep your petty problems over on TKU and off my hub. This goes for you too Klaus. We are not a place for you kids to have your arguements. And if it doesn't stop, I will start blocking everyone to ensure the drama stays out of my community. I don't want to do that, but if you make it necessary then I will.
Didn't say you were breaking the rules. AnonBaiter and everyone blocked before him, however, DID. What I did say about you, though, is that you haven't edited the wiki itself. You have only edited your user page.
Nba, is there a possibilty where both sides (Night and you) can apologize to each other and drop the bans? Think of me as rediculous, but hear me out. Usually in war, either one side is defeated, both sides are defeated, or both sides stop the war and make a compromise that would be helpful to the country and to its citizens.
I have nothing to apologize to him for. You (TKU) come onto my wiki, attack me for no reason, you WILL get banned for violating our no-harassment rule. You also do not start up childish "wars" because you were punished for rule violations, or because your friends were. TKU attacked the hub and was vehemently defeated. And that's the way it is going to be. There is no war - TKU attacked and lost, and Wikia staff is aware of the transgression. Anyone else continuing this childish fight is going to meet the same fate as Night - a permanent block.
Nba, you may not know this, but I never supported the war. I'm someone against war. When I was seeing what was going on between you two, I actually wanted the fighting to stop. When war was going on, I decided to not be involved, cause I know what happens in war.
That's why you haven't been blocked - you haven't broken the rules. But given your association with TKU, I have every reason to keep my eye on you accordingly. You are welcome to edit here as long as you do not break the rules. But again, I have yet to see you edit something other than your user page.
Nba, everyday, I edit my userpage. Everydy, I decide to think of something inspirational and post it online. I call it TKU's Wise Words. Multiple themes are presented. If you would like to read my profile to understand my background, go ahead, the freedom is yours.
My point being why are you here if you aren't editing the wiki itself? You are not contributing to its community - if anything, I should find that very suspicious. Like someone lying in wait to launch an attack at a later time.
Nba, I was told that I was like a turtle that always wanted to hide in it's shell. It never wanted to get out. It never wanted to explore the rest of the world. I didn't want to hear that anymore. I wanted to prove those people wrong. I asked Night what wikis needed help, and he said this one needed help. At the moment, I havent't been able to help because I have loads of things to add to TK. So you're propably asking this: Then why are you here now, not contributing, if you're not done contributing to your main wiki? I can tell you this: Someone once told me it's never too late to do something. Someone else told me that you better explore the world now cause if you don't, you might not able to in the future.
Him editing his profile only at first made me wary (I thought it was a way to rack up edits for an adoption at first), but he's cool. He just wants to spout a bit of philosophy, not hurting anything and actually admirable.
I do however hope a little help will come from TKU though once Crowds insight starts. Missreven and Zeromaro are here sometimes, but due to MissR being in school (College I presume) and at work and Zeromaro doing his own thing, that is somewhat rare at times. I put this wiki on a somewhat lower priority, due to being its patroller (My intent as always is to give it to a trusted fan to be its admin, something that sadly is hard to find) and the franchise being not as fast and frequent as other members.
TenkaiKnightsUnite29 wrote: Aldo, you read my profile?
Yes I do, and it is inspirational. But like I said, once Crowds insight starts in July and streams on Hulu and Crunchyroll, that will be a test of your editing skills outside your profile. If you need a hand, don't be shy and ask for help.
Thanks Aldo, but that might be a problem because again, I have some unfinished business to take care of on TK. Since there hasn't been word of season 2, we're losing editors, which means more work for me. I kind of made a promise that if everyone were to leave and I be last man on that wiki, I wouldn't stop editing until everything that was supposed to be there in the past is there.
Hi, I saw your profile and read that you wait for a group of fans who maintain the wiki and keep it in good condition. Now the administration is inactive and I would like to make this wiki a better place. I placed an adoption request, but was told that I could get rights faster if I ask a bureaucrat. That's new for me since I have adopted several wikis, but now I do it here. Would you mind making me bureaucrat?
A lot of us are active on our other wikis, but unfortunately most of us do not know much about Gatchaman to be able to do much. How exactly do you plan to make this a better place? (I am a bcrat who can grant rights, but I want to know what your plans are before I do anything)
My plans are making pages about episodes and characters as well as structuring the wiki, which I successfully did before on Tenkai Knights Wiki. Furthermore I have almost all seasons of Gatchaman except Gatchaman Fighter. So I'm able to do much, which could help the wiki.
Sounds good, certainly your coding looks capable, though I did just notice that you had made a page titled List of Battle of the Planets: Eagle Riders episodes - but Eagle Riders is not part of Battle of the Planets. The characters have different names, and it was a different dubbing company.
Sorry about that. But I thought as Eagle Riders was a continuation of Gatchaman in Japan as Gatchaman II and Gatchaman F it shouldn't look like Battle of the Planets and Eagle Riders are two completely different series, as well due to the fact that the new series by Nelvana and d-rights will be known as Battle of the Planets: Phoenix Ninjas in North America, while in Japan it will probably be known as well as Gatchaman. As well B-Daman Fireblast also had a different dubbing company in North America. Nevertheless it was still considered a sequel of B-Daman Crossfire.
Gatchaman II is a sequel to Gatchaman but the adaptations are totally unrelated. Gatchaman was actually dubbed twice, first as Battle of the Planets then as G-Force. Eagle Riders wasn't made by the same company as either of those, so it's not in continuity with them (if it was in continuity, wouldn't the cast all have the same names as in BOTP? They don't). Basically, it should look like BOTF and Eagle Riders are different series, because they're only connected in Japan. B-Daman Fireblast and Crossfire are both by the same dubbing company, so I don't know why you mentioned that, it's irrelevant.
Yes, but the fact is that in Japan it was a follow-up of Gatchaman. As you've said, there were two dubs of the first series, the first Battle of the Planets, the second being G-Force. From what I saw there was even a third dub released on DVD a few years ago to stick more to the original than Battle of the Planets or G-Force ever did. I knew that it should look like Battle of the Planets and G-Force are different series. Gatchaman was the opposite to Robotech and Voltron, where several Japanese series were combined. That's why I said it causes confusion. There also could be a re-dub of Eagle Riders, since it only aired 13 episodes in North America and 65 in Australia, while there altogether were 100 Gatchaman II and Gatchaman F episodes. As with B-Daman you are wrong, Bob Buchholz didn't work on Fireblast nor did any of the voice actors who starred in Crossfire. I was personally involved in the fandom of B-Daman by uploading a new Japanese episode every week on YouTube and doing many edits on the B-Daman Wiki, so I heard all those news. Anyway, I accept your rename to Eagle Riders. Let's now move to the original topic of the thread, that I want to become a bureaucrat in order to help the wiki a lot, as I did before with the Tenkai Knights Wiki, making more than 8000 edits there and heavily promoting it.
Im not the person who just asks for rights and then does nothing. Thats why there is a contest on Tenkai Knights Wiki, to prevent such leechers from rising to power. Yes it was made by Saban, who wanted to sell it as a completely different series. This was in the 90s, and now Nelvana is the third North American company, who is involved in Gatchaman, after Sandy Frank and Saban.
You've done quite the work so far! Some of us have been pretty busy in the past few months, so things here have been pretty deadish. But yeah, hopefully this wiki can revive a little. Thanks for the help :)
The Geisha World Wiki is named after the artistic and mystical women known as Geisha (Geiko or Geigi), but it deals with interests other than geisha, such as; the arts in Japan, their religion which is traditionally Shinto, and many other interesting and intriguing things about Japan. The Geisha World Wiki also gives users the freedom to talk about multiple subjects considering Japan, without being tied down to one subject. You can truly say that the Geisha World Wiki is about everything Japanese, and we wish to be affiliated with wikis of the same topics.
