Hi, I saw your profile and read that you wait for a group of fans who maintain the wiki and keep it in good condition. Now the administration is inactive and I would like to make this wiki a better place. I placed an adoption request, but was told that I could get rights faster if I ask a bureaucrat. That's new for me since I have adopted several wikis, but now I do it here. Would you mind making me bureaucrat?
A lot of us are active on our other wikis, but unfortunately most of us do not know much about Gatchaman to be able to do much. How exactly do you plan to make this a better place? (I am a bcrat who can grant rights, but I want to know what your plans are before I do anything)
My plans are making pages about episodes and characters as well as structuring the wiki, which I successfully did before on Tenkai Knights Wiki. Furthermore I have almost all seasons of Gatchaman except Gatchaman Fighter. So I'm able to do much, which could help the wiki.
Sounds good, certainly your coding looks capable, though I did just notice that you had made a page titled List of Battle of the Planets: Eagle Riders episodes - but Eagle Riders is not part of Battle of the Planets. The characters have different names, and it was a different dubbing company.
Sorry about that. But I thought as Eagle Riders was a continuation of Gatchaman in Japan as Gatchaman II and Gatchaman F it shouldn't look like Battle of the Planets and Eagle Riders are two completely different series, as well due to the fact that the new series by Nelvana and d-rights will be known as Battle of the Planets: Phoenix Ninjas in North America, while in Japan it will probably be known as well as Gatchaman. As well B-Daman Fireblast also had a different dubbing company in North America. Nevertheless it was still considered a sequel of B-Daman Crossfire.
Gatchaman II is a sequel to Gatchaman but the adaptations are totally unrelated. Gatchaman was actually dubbed twice, first as Battle of the Planets then as G-Force. Eagle Riders wasn't made by the same company as either of those, so it's not in continuity with them (if it was in continuity, wouldn't the cast all have the same names as in BOTP? They don't). Basically, it should look like BOTF and Eagle Riders are different series, because they're only connected in Japan. B-Daman Fireblast and Crossfire are both by the same dubbing company, so I don't know why you mentioned that, it's irrelevant.
Yes, but the fact is that in Japan it was a follow-up of Gatchaman. As you've said, there were two dubs of the first series, the first Battle of the Planets, the second being G-Force. From what I saw there was even a third dub released on DVD a few years ago to stick more to the original than Battle of the Planets or G-Force ever did. I knew that it should look like Battle of the Planets and G-Force are different series. Gatchaman was the opposite to Robotech and Voltron, where several Japanese series were combined. That's why I said it causes confusion. There also could be a re-dub of Eagle Riders, since it only aired 13 episodes in North America and 65 in Australia, while there altogether were 100 Gatchaman II and Gatchaman F episodes. As with B-Daman you are wrong, Bob Buchholz didn't work on Fireblast nor did any of the voice actors who starred in Crossfire. I was personally involved in the fandom of B-Daman by uploading a new Japanese episode every week on YouTube and doing many edits on the B-Daman Wiki, so I heard all those news. Anyway, I accept your rename to Eagle Riders. Let's now move to the original topic of the thread, that I want to become a bureaucrat in order to help the wiki a lot, as I did before with the Tenkai Knights Wiki, making more than 8000 edits there and heavily promoting it.
Im not the person who just asks for rights and then does nothing. Thats why there is a contest on Tenkai Knights Wiki, to prevent such leechers from rising to power. Yes it was made by Saban, who wanted to sell it as a completely different series. This was in the 90s, and now Nelvana is the third North American company, who is involved in Gatchaman, after Sandy Frank and Saban.
You've done quite the work so far! Some of us have been pretty busy in the past few months, so things here have been pretty deadish. But yeah, hopefully this wiki can revive a little. Thanks for the help :)
